Ford’s 2020 Lineup to Feature 700HP Mustang, a ‘Baby Bronco’

Don't worry: The Daddy Bronco is in there too

Ford dropped plans for a certifiably fresh 2020 lineup in a press release late last week (accompanied by some intentionally mysterious photos), and the hype is real.

What’s new? On top of a reported “all out” commitment to hybrid vehicles, Ford plans to replace “three-quarters of its lineup,” with four new trucks and SUVs as well as the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 taking center stage.

Among those new utility rigs? The much-ballyhooed return of the Bronco and a currently unnamed small utility that internet forums have already taken to calling the “Baby Bronco.”

The “Baby Bronco” is aimed at an ever-growing contingent of casual off-roaders, a market that in recent decades has belonged to Jeep. This doesn’t seem to sit well with Ford President Jim Farley, who expressed it’s now time for Ford to “reclaim [its] rightful place as the off-road vehicle leader.”

The new Mustang, meanwhile, promises 700+ horsepower and sports a massive, imposing front grille that ought to light a fire under the folks at Dodge and Chevy.

Getcha popcorn ready.
