Humans spend [insert extremely high number here] hours of their week sitting on the couch.
Which means you should have a nice couch. Not a futon with wobbly pegs and ketchup packets hibernating in the seams, but also not necessarily a $6,000 leather sectional. In other words, good taste and simple, functional design can be affordable, assuming you know where to look.
Enter furniture wizards Floyd, and their latest release, the Floyd Sofa. We’ve written about the Detroit-based designers before for their stripped-back desks and platform beds, but this is their first couch, and it is a beaut.
In line with their other products: expect an unheard of sub-five minutes of setup, same-day delivery if you live in a major city, a heightened attention to detail and approachable prices (the units start at $1,200). The Floyd Sofa is offered as a two-seater, three-seater or three-seat chaise, with either a light birch or upholstered frame, double-stuffed “pillow-like” cushions and four different colorways in stain-resistant fabric (grey, navy, light blue and mustard). We especially appreciate the extra padding against the frame — your reading list doesn’t stand a chance.
The couch is available for preorder September 20 and will begin shipping in early October. Find more info here, and shop their other creations here.
