First it beat the Ferrari LaFerrari.
Then the Porsche 918 Spider.
Now the Rimac Concept_One — the world’s fastest electric hypercar — is going for what many believe is the best supercar ever made: the Bugatti Veyron.
To see which vehicle had the most pep in its step off the starting line, Bugatti owner Lord Pembroke journeyed to Croatia to put one of his Veyrons up against an electric Rimac Concept_One on a quarter-mile track.
Referred to by its manufacturer as the “fastest-accelerating car in the world,” the Concept_One more than held its own against the Veyron — which can do 0-60 in 2.4 seconds — off the line and then captured the checkered flag with a wire-to-wire win.
“My Bugatti is astonishingly fast — especially when the four turbos spool up — but the real eye-opener is the instant hit of acceleration from standstill the Rimac delivers,” Pembroke said.
The Concept_One was so impressive, Pembroke might invite it to attend the supercar party he’s throwing in the UK in June.
If you’d like to get on the guest list as well, here’s where to do it.
