While his success could easily be dismissed as genetics, scientists have huddled together to claim the four-time Super Bowl MVP’s continued excellence is mostly owed to a healthy lifestyle.
The Patriots QB, who will turn 40 before the start of next season, has said he plans to play for seven more years in a league dominated by much younger athletes. But with Brady’s unique diet, sleep regimen, workout routine, and cognitive training, he very well could be able to stay on the gridiron for that long, according to The Guardian.
Fergus Connolly, football performance director at the University of Michigan think Brady’s success is owed to these habits. “I have no doubt that Tom Brady’s ability to recover is due to his lifestyle health,” he told The Guardian.
Others in the field point to Brady’s commitment to science-backed methods to fine-tune his performance in the offseason.
If Super Bowl 51 proved anything, it’s that Brady defies odds.
