C’est magnifique! Swiss-made Tudor watches are reunited with their French neighbors for an inspired release of the Pelagos FXD, the timepiece maker’s newest dive watch. The Pelagos FXD, designed specifically for underwater navigation and optimized for professional use, has been perfected to military-grade standards: in conjunction with the Commando Hubert (elite French combat divers), the watch meets a rigorous set of standards set by Marine nationale, whom Tudor has outfitted since the ‘50s.
The Pelagos can credit its functionality to the precise and impeccable design demanded by Navy-grade specifications. The watch’s fixed-strap bars are machined into the main body of the 42mm titanium case for increased robustness and reliability, and 120-notch rotating bezel is bidirectional, corresponding to the needs of Commando Hubert’s underwater navigation, rather than the traditional ISO standard of most dive watches. Complete with luminescent hour markers and watch hands, the divers’ tool is certified by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute, boasts a 70-hour power reserve, and, a nod to their shared history, is engraved with the Marine nationale logo and the inscription “M.N.21”.
With the holidays fast approaching, the crème de la crème timepiece would make for an exquisite addition to any watch fanatic’s collection. The Tudor Pelagos FXD Collection starts at $3,900, and is available now from Tudor, at select retailers and at the link below.
