From A-frames and glass huts to villas and cottagesOkay, so the Yellow Submarine Airbnb isn’t actually a submarine. According to Time Out, the one-bedroom, one-bathroom rental was built out of an old grain silo, spa bath and milking shed. But the quirky interior would lead you to believe that you’re about to embark on an undersea adventure, complete with a steampunk lounge and nautical details like portholes, an antique diving helmet and a mannequin done up in uniform, dubbed Captain Nemo. We could talk about the details of this place all day, but photos of the unique property tell the real story.
Peace and quiet are also part of the package. The property is located near Marton in a rural river valley and is only about a 30-minute drive from the cities of Palmerston North and Wanganui. It’s also two hours from Wellington, the capital of New Zealand.
The best part? The Yellow Submarine Airbnb doesn’t have a cleaning fee and starts at only $132 per night. Whether you’re a Beatles fan or not, you have to admit that’s a damn good deal for a unique place to rest your head.
