Dreams do come true: Jennifer Aniston is coming back to television and is teaming up with Reese Witherspoon for a TV series that will focus on a New York morning show.
“House of Cards” producer Jay Carson is writing the script and Steve Kloves is executive producer, according to Variety. Witherspoon will also be producing through her Hello Sunshine production banner along with Lauren Levy Neustadter, her film and television head.
Variety says the series will be shopped to networks and streaming services in the coming weeks.
This won’t be the first time these two leading ladies are working together. Witherspoon guest starred on Friends as Aniston’s sister.
Witherspoon recently earned an Emmy nomination for her role in the HBO drama Big Little Lies. But this will be the first regular TV role for Aniston since Friends ended in 2004. She told Variety back in January that she wanted to return to TV and be part “of wonderful stories, exciting characters, and also just having a good time.”
Both actresses are still working on movies. Witherspoon is in post-production for Ava DuVernay’s A Wrinkle in Time for Disney, and will be in a romantic comedy Home Again this September. Aniston, meanwhile, is starring in independent teen comedy Dumplin’, and was recently in a drama, The Yellow Birds and a comedy, Office Christmas Party.
