Fox Sports announced Monday that it had fired the network’s head of sports programming, Jamie Horowitz amid a probe of sexual harassment allegations.
“Jamie Horowitz is no longer with FOX Sports effective immediately,” a Fox Sports spokesperson said in a statement.
Horowitz’s dismissal comes less than a week after Fox began investigating allegations of workplace sexual harassment at Fox Sports. The company hired a law firm, which began interviewing women about Horowitz’s behavior, reports The Los Angeles Times.
According to two people familiar with the investigation, several women, including on-air personalities, have already been interviewed by the firm about their treatment at Fox Sports.
Horowitz’s attorney, Patricia L. Glaser, said that the way Fox treated Horowitz is “appalling.”
Last year, sister company Fox News fired its chairman Roger Ailes — who died in May — amid allegations that he made lewd comments and created an atmosphere of intimidation. This spring, Fox fired host Bill O’Reilly amid another sexual harassment probe.
Horowitz joined Fox Sports in 2015. Last week, Fox Sports laid off writers during a company move to focus on videos and deemphasize written stories.
