Suffice to say that the COVID-19 pandemic has affected everyone, especially small businesses and brick-and-mortar stores that have seemingly had to bear the brunt of the virus’s economic repercussions. In an effort to aid those who are struggling during these uncertain times, Vans has launched their “Foot The Bill” initiative, which aims to help what they’ve deem their “extended Vans Family.”
As part of the initiative, customers will be able to shop custom-designed footwear from over 80 local businesses that help the proliferation of community, whether they be skate shops, music venues or art galleries. Each business has customized either the Classic Slip-On silhouette, or the equally classic Era sneaker, and all proceeds (less the cost of production and shipment) will go directly to these spaces.
Of the businesses participating you’ll find everything from the Brooklyn-based No. 7 Restaurant, to 808 Skate in Kailua, Hawaii. For each of the 80 partners (with potentially more to come) Vans has promised to produce up to 500 pairs of custom sneakers per business. Once the designs are gone, they’re gone for good. So get ’em while they last, and support a small business while you’re at it.
We've put in the work researching, reviewing and rounding up all the shirts, jackets, shoes and accessories you'll need this season, whether it's for yourself of for gifting purposes. Sign up here for weekly style inspo direct to your inbox.
