The Lakers are finally starting to see the light after some of the darkest days in the franchise’s history. They also have a promising group of young players in place, like Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, and more. But head coach Luke Walton has learned the hard way that success is far from assured. Walton has resorted to old-school methods of making the team run suicides for every turnover during scrimmages (the Lakers are 29th in turnovers per game). Ball leads the team in turnovers and is 46th among point guards in turnover ratio. In the short term, this return to the basics might work, as shown when the Lakers beat the 76ers last week, but in the long term, the team just needs to get better.
