Steelers Defense Makes Them Truly Dangerous

You might think their potential MVPs on offense are what wins them games, but it's actually the defense.

Though the Pittsburgh Steelers have a strong offense led by wide receiver Antonio Brown and running back Le’Veon Bell, who could both get MVP votes, the reason they are winning games is because of their defense. The Steelers won their division for the second straight year and sixth time in the Mike Tomlin era, but also frequently plays down to the level of its competition. All it takes for the Steelers to lose is one afternoon when one of the team’s powerhouses isn’t clicking quite right. But on Christmas Day, they had a defense-led win on the road. They forced a tornado of pass-rushing pain and also created points.

The Steelers defense had seven sacks and limited the Texans’ offense to only three successful third-down conversions on 12 tries and 227 yards overall. Their offense may excel, but their defense will win them games.
