Carson Wentz is the latest in a string of high-profile stars ending the season early.

Carson Wentz. Odell Beckham Jr. J.J. Watt. Deshaun Watson. Richard Sherman. All these high-profile NFL stars have been lost for the season due to catastrophic injuries on the field. Though injuries this year are not necessarily up, they included some of the best players on multiple teams, which has made the biggest story of this NFL season about the players on the sideline instead of the ones on the field. The roster of injured players includes a group that seems to be the best at their positions in the entire sport, like Aaron Rodgers, who has been out since Week 6 with a broken collarbone. Or Cardinals running back David Johnson, who was out before the season really started with a wrist injury week one. Injuries have also affected some of the league’s best and brightest stars, like Houston’s Deshaun Watson, who had the potential to be one of the best rookie quarterbacks in ages until he tore his ACL.
