Gentlemen: At this advanced stage of your career, you have realized that there is a direct correlation between the number of lunches eaten at one’s desk and one’s level of melancholy.
So step away from the monitor – to dance, no less – at Lunch Break: San Francisco’s first ever noonday dance party for busy professionals, arriving in our chilly hamlet this afternoon.
Lunch Break is run by the happy-footed cultural arbiters at Flavorpill, and its premise is alluringly simple: get on the list, and every Friday they’ll reveal that week’s secret venue and a DJ (guys like Peanut Butter Wolf and TOKiMONSTA) who has been recommended by none other than The Roots’ own Questlove.
Drinks come courtesy of Absolut — though honestly, this is more about dancing than drinking — and when the hour’s up, you’ll be on your way with a well-earned appetite and free take-out.
That should take the edge off responding to those last few emails.
Shalom work week. Shalom weekend.
Nota bene: Lunch Break is free, but to get in you’ll have to submit your email address to Absolut. A small price to pay for a summer of dancing.
