Halloween in NYC falls a close second to New Year’s Eve when it comes to good excuses to stay in and watch Netflix.
And yet, out of some sense of guilt or FOMO or obligation, you will likely still indulge in some spooky happenings. Here’s your plan for doing it like a grown ass man.
The eclectic entertainment mavens at the McKittrick Hotel are hosting a three-evening series of soirees dedicated to the master of suspense, Alfred Hitchcock. And we’ve got a respectable fit and nitecap haunt for rounding out a solid date night.
THE FIT
You’re headed to a soiree celebrating Hollywood’s Golden Age. Act accordingly and with style by throwing on a dinner jacket and some shiny black shoes. Throw on one of those ornate carnivale masques or some face paint, et voila, you’re the best looking man in the room.
THE FÊTE
Masters of their craft, the iconic McKittrick Hotel returns with another banger of a lineup for the spooking season. A Hitchcock Halloween is their three-day series of late-night bashes inspired by the glitz and glamor of old Hollywood. Expect it to be dazzling and surreal, with evenings full of live performances, mysterious twists and turns, special guests and, of course, a dance party of epic proportion plus an open bar. THE FINALE
After a nerve-rattling evening, a strong dram might be in order. For a nitecap, head to Danny Meyer’s newest hotspot addition to Hudson Yards, Cedric’s at The Shed. Deftly helmed by master mixologist Nicholas Bennett, it’s all the familiar tipples we’ve come to know and love with a lil’ twist on each, from a Manhattan Boilermaker to a Negroni with Mezcal, Campari and coffee.
