So Brooklyn’s got some legendary eats. And music. And art. And kooky culture. But where to find it all in the same place, without standing cheek to tattooed jowl on the L?
Here’s where: the Brooklyn Night Bazaar, a five-weekend extravaganza of local eats, live music, art, cocktails and glow-in-the-dark soccer (seriously) kicking off this Friday in Williamsburg.
The Bazaar’s held in a sprawling former carpet warehouse, hosting a rotating cast of 80+ vendors each night – and at 40,000 square-feet, you may need some guidance. So we made you a map. Follow it to delights such as:
BEER GARDEN AND GRUB
Upon entering, buttonhook to your right – there you’ll encounter a picnic table’d beer garden with eats like Rosamunde Grill’s chicken habañero sausages and Luke’s Lobster rolls, plus ready-for-the-tippling Sixpoint suds and Brooklyn Winery vino.
BANDS AND CURIOS
Take a quick jog left, where the main stage hosts a cabal of bands, before winding through the bulk of the market, where you’ll find curios like designer furniture, electric bikes, artisanal pickles, and artistic skateboards. And a tattooist, should the mood strike you.
CINEMA AND SOCCER
The bazaar’s opposite end features an upstairs mezzanine with views of the whole market, a cinema, and sit-down dinners from restos like white-hot Pok Pok, as well as the aforementioned futbol – a massive neon-lit pitch complete with crowd murals and stadium sounds, adjacent to a 20-table ping pong garden.
You may not want to find your way out.
