Two New Glamping Concerns Just Popped Up on a Beach in Queens

Wake up. Open tent. Smell ocean.

You’re in a tent. A nice tent. With a bed.

You wake up, throw open the door and gaze out across the Atlantic.

And somehow, you’re still right here, in New York City.

From August 11th through September 19th, Terra Glamping is bring their safari-style tents to Ft. Tilden for a limited time. Guests can expect a 12’ x 14’ tent for two, complete with glamping essentials like a mattress, linens and snazzy decor. On-site, there’s also a communal grill, two hammocks, bathrooms, showers and a camp store for snagging s’mores and extra firewood.

The experience will run a fella $200/night, with a price bump increase on the weekends. And it should be noted that the rules indicate that no alcohol or pets are allowed. So, have fun at your own risk.

If you’re connected at the hip to you friendly pup — or your favorite IPA, for that matter — Getaway recently set up an outpost of their secret cabin hotel just a stone’s throw away at Gateway National Recreation Area as well. Those will run you just $150/night.

Either way, it’s the perfect excuse to have a shoddy wifi connection for the weekend.
