Honestly, it’s like Hollywood pretty much threw in the towel around mid-August (“Here’s Guardians of the Galaxy. We’ll be in Cabo. Back in a month!”).
Good news: there’s a worthy go-to-the-theater-for-it movie coming out every single week this fall.

It’s a fall so good, we left out a few flicks, like Jon Stewart’s directorial debut Rosewater and Michael Keaton’s comeback vehicle Birdman. Certainly worthy stuff.
Not left behind: Left Behind, in which Nicolas Cage pilots humanity through the Rapture and TV-movie special effects. An uncalled-for remake of a terrible adaptation of a ridiculous book.
