The halftime show at Super Bowl LIV in Miami did not disappoint, with Shakira, 43, and Jennifer Lopez, 50, both making the rest of us feel incredibly out-of-shape and tearing their way through some intricate choreography that’d be impressive for performers 20 years younger than them. Shakira kicked off the proceedings with her 2009 single “She Wolf,” along with “Empire” and “Wherever, Whenever,” before being joined by Bad Bunny for a snippet of “I Like It.”
The singer then sang her Spanish-language “Chantaje” interspersed with lines from Bad Bunny’s “Callaíta” before wrapping up her portion of the show with her megahit “Hips Don’t Lie.” From there, Jennifer Lopez emerged on a stripper pole — an homage to her Oscar-snubbed role in Hustlers — and performed “Jenny From the Block,” “Ain’t It Funny,” “Get Right,” and “Waiting For Tonight.” J Balvin emerged for “Que Calor” and “Mi Gente” before J. Lo segued into “Love Don’t Cost A Thing.”
As Lopez re-emerged wearing a feathered Puerto Rican flag cape, she was joined by her daughter Emme, who sang a snippet of “Born in the USA” during “Let’s Get Loud.”
