Over the past decade or so, Beck has alternated between stripped-down acoustic albums and upbeat futuristic playlists. Case and point: 1998’s Mutations (acoustic), then 1999’s Midnight Vultures (retro-soul); and 2002’s Sea Change (acoustic), then 2005’s Guero (urban dance party). And now following up 2014’s three-time Grammy winning Morning Phase (of the acoustic ilk) appears to be yet another eclectic, electric masterpiece. At least, that’s what we’re hearing in his latest single, “Wow.” Unfamiliar with Beck’s music? Just below the new single, you’ll find songs from each of the albums referenced above.
“Nobody’s Fault But My Own” From 1998’s Mutations
“Sexx Laws” From 1999’s Midnight Vultures
