You can’t straddle Jeff Koons’s Balloon Dog. It’s verboten to boulder Michael Heizer’s Levitated Mass.
But you can pop a squat in Etazin, a gyroscopic chair inspired by the Japanese moon gate, available now.
When’s the last time you were inspired by lawn furniture?
Made of three concentric rings that rotate 360 degrees, Etazin looks like a cross between a pulsing star and the space shackles that held General Zod prisoner in Superman.
Etazin’s designed by Kate Brown, and sold through her Phoenix-based interior design company, PHXDA.
At a little over eight feet in diameter, the Etazin has self-oiling bushings that keep it turning smoothly. It seats two and comes fully assembled.
But it’s heavy. Really heavy. To install it you’ll need either four strong dudes or one gassed-up CAT.
But after that chore: relax.
