Yes, you might be able to buy a PlayStation 5 by Christmas. But you have to act fast (as in, check your watch as you’re reading this).
As noted by Tom’s Guide, Walmart has been making a few timed drops of new PS5 inventory, the notoriously difficult to obtain gaming console. The next one is at 3 p.m. on Friday, November 5.
Sony’s latest console arrives with one wireless controller that features haptic feedback, dynamic adaptive triggers and a built-in microphone. The console itself offers up an insanely high frame rate gameplay of 120 fps. And while this PS5 set doesn’t arrive with a game, you could always, say, bundle this with the new Call of Duty.
Tom’s Guide notes that this week’s earlier drops, which went fast, were plagued by technical issues, with “many users unable to get past the CAPTCHA verification stage.” Not ideal, nor is the idea that you might have to be a Walmart+ member to get in on this, but there are 15-day free trials available. Again, this isn’t verified, and Walmart’s site is extremely unhelpful with all details beyond the 3 p.m. time frame.
Suggestion? Just be signed in (with your free Plus trial if you’re not a member) a bit before 3 p.m. and hope for the best.
