Each week, our inbox runneth over with news of gear, apparel and tech releases from around the world. In this feature, we’ll parse through the best of it. Rowing Blazers x Babar Fait Du Ski
If you can’t understand the appeal of an equipe de ski-themed around Babar gone skiing, we really don’t know how to help you. Yet another elite addition to the growing collection of Rowing Blazer x Babar, the Fait Du Ski capsule pays homage to apres inclinations with a variety of offerings, from a branded Cashball Jacket to Team Patch Mittens to the iconic Rowing Blazers Rugbies in the collection’s solid and vibrant red and blue hues. The whole thing is trés chic; Brunhoff would most certainly be proud.
Audio-Technica ATH-SQ1TW Wireless Headphones
These funky little headphones from Audio Technica caught our attention for a number of reasons: they’re the perfect size, under $100 (you can snag a pair right now from Amazon for a cool $80 bucks), and have a nearly 20-hour battery life (with charging case, of course). Also, the Japanese-made earbuds are unusually square. We love ’em!
Burrow Field Collection
Our editors have had plenty of good things to say after testing Burrow’s furniture, both the Nomad and Range collections, the former a traditional design, the latter significantly more modern. Now the DTC company has introduced a third option, the Field collection, which splits the difference aesthetically. Thankfully it’s the same modular construction that can be had in dozens of configurations, something we’ve always appreciated.
UN/DN LAQR
One half of Hollywood’s weirdest “it” couple, Machine Gun Kelly (a.k.a Colson Baker) recently launched his new genderless nail polish line UN/DN LAQR. The launch follows a recent trend of male celebs coming out with beauty and nail care products, including everyone’s favorite boyband member turned cultural and style juggernaut Harry Styles. MGK’s line, however, includes some pretty dope shades we have to say, including a bright pink called “Party Favor” and bold orange named “Twenty Five To Life.” (The nail polish names do not disappoint.) Unfortunately, the entire line is already sold out.
Blackstock and Weber The Mason Vibram Lug Sole Horse Bit Loafer
We really wish we had some loafers we could wear in winter … oh my gosh, loafers we can wear in winter! Breakout brand Blackstock and Weber’s newest kicks are as durable and rugged as they are timeless, with supple pebbled leather, a dazzling horse-bit adornment and an all-terrain Vibram sole that makes a slushy NYC walk in the park a … well, a walk in the park. Pick up a pair and keep the fits coming, regardless of conditions.
UNDONE x Birdwell “Birdie” 60th Anniversary Watch
60 never looked so good. Birdwell is celebrating its anniversary with a very exclusive UNDONE collaboration, a classic divers watch dressed up nice, “Birdie” style. Leaning into the brand’s California surf-inspired charm, the Anniversary Watch features a black dial, tonal NATO strap and “Birdie” iconography throwing a shaka, the hang loose sign, with its arms acting as the minute and hour hands. How’s that for tubular?
Hot Ones Jr. The Green Hot Sauce
Looking for a way to punish your children? Or maybe you’ve just raised a little spice-head (no, not that kind of spice head, or that one, either). The Hot Ones Jr. “The Green” hot sauce, brainchild of the cult-favorite YouTube channel, is the (self-proclaimed) first-ever hot sauce for kids, proving once again that, in fact, the majority of adults have little to no idea about children at all. Jokes aside, “The Green” is made with wholesome ingredients and some very mild jalapeño, meaning it’s easy on the tum-tum and exciting for the little ones to test. Try it with your spawn, or maybe just with your normal crowd of middle-aged children.
McIntosh RS150 Wireless Loudspeaker
McIntosh is no dinky bluetooth speaker brand — the heritage audiomakers produce some of the finest listening tools on planet earth, from speakers to turntables and back. The RS150 is their newest wireless speaker, marrying convenient portability and connectivity with some ridiculously good fidelity via a 20mm Titanium Dome Fluid-filled Tweeter and Long Throw Woofer that receive a whopping 120 Watts, twice that of the previous model. Built-in casting means the system is compatible with Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Apple AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, Chromecast, Roon Ready and more (all natively in-app, to boot), and a digital meter mirrors that of classic McIntosh productss. If you’re looking to upgrade the home sound systems, this is a great place to start.
Shinola x Northern Toboggan
Is an $850 old-school toboggan handcrafted in Minnesota in a limited-edition run of 50 with trendy details dictated by Shinola a bit of an extravagance? Of course it is. Would it also be a total blast to pack as many people as possible on this bad boy and bomb your local sledding hill in style this winter? Of course it would.
Todd Snyder x L.L.Bean Heritage Plaid Capsule
If you’re a fan of Todd Snyder’s collaboration with L.L.Bean, a pattern purist or both of those things, you’ll want to snap up their buffalo check capsule that just dropped. We’ve got red-and-black sweaters, vests, boots, bags, even a double-breasted wool topcoat that’s the definition of a statement piece. Sneakily, it’s also a collaboration with Pendleton, who provides the wool fabric. Be aware that, at the time of writing, some items are in stock and some are up for pre-order.
