Q Timex 1972 Reissue 43mm Leather Strap Watch
It appears Timex has been slowly preparing us for this release. The company has been reissuing quartz watches from their archives for some time under the Q Timex line, but they’ve all been relatively conventional. Sure, they’ve thrown in some gold-tone here, a wonky date window there, but the retro timepieces have never been statement pieces. This, the Q Timex 1972, is the definition of a statement watch. Bringing back a design from 50 years ago, it features a 43mm stainless-steel tonneau case in gold-tone, floating hour markers, a rich burgundy dial and a domed acrylic crystal which bumps up the case height to a thick 15mm. It’s loud, it’s retro, it’s not for everyone — but it might be just what you need.
Earpeace x NPR Music
You thought NPR was too geriatric-adjacent to link up for a collab? Think again. No, Earpeace x NPR isn’t the hottest sneaker around — it’s a pair of ear plugs. And what’s wrong with that? Being able to hear past the age of 50 is … sexy.
Truly Flavored Vodka
Launching next month, hard seltzer/canned cocktail brand Truly is bringing their flavors to hard spirits with the debut of flavored vodkas. According to BarBiz, these 60-proof variations will include Strawberry Lemonade, Wild Berry, and Pineapple Mango and be available in 50mL, 375mL, 750mL and 1L bottles.
Rumpl Skyline Divide Puffy Blanket
Rumpl’s latest collab with athlete and artist Brooklyn Bell delivers a unique blend of color and comfort that’s sure to catch your eye. A professional mountain biker and BiPOC illustrator, Bell’s original work draws inspiration from the Skyline Divide Trail in her home state of Washington, where fiery sunsets cast iridescent colors upon the high-alpine peaks. Artwork aside, the blanket is none other than Rumpl’s Original Puffy Blanket — it’s the same one we’ve used for years, from the backyard to the backcountry. There’s never been a better time to snuggle up in style.
Marantz Model 40n
A luxury amplifier with built-in streaming — hook those up to your speakers, TV and record player of choice, and you’ll have an easy-to-use upgrade to all of your home theater and audio.
Midnight Studios
Shane Gonzales Midnight Studios may have just released their first collection — Season 0’s “Welcome to the Machine” — but with endorsements from the likes of Ty Dolla $ign, Zack Bia and G-Easy, we can already tell the brand is going to be a hit. Potmarked with classic suiting, streetwear sensibilities and a whole lot of western influence, the collection ranges from $175-$2,000.
Oscar and Oak Team Shuster Humboldt
Back in 2018 Chicago’s Oak & Oscar, one of our favorite micro watch brands, released the Humboldt, a well-balanced piece with their signature flair and a rotating 12-hour bezel. You know who likes the watch just as much as us? The U.S. men’s Olympic curling team. They wore the style throughout the recent Games, and to celebrate, the brand released the special Team Shuster edition (named after captain, or skip, John Shuster) which features a piece of a curling stone set into the caseback. Only 10 were made, five for the team and five for the public, so you can understand why they’re already sold out.
Twisted Tea Light
Twisted Tea runs deep in the great city of Philadelphia. I — a Philly native — would know because in high school my diet consisted mainly of the sugary hard iced tea. But there is also data to back that statement up. In 2020, Twisted Tea tweeted a heat map that showed the city of brotherly love consumes the company’s Twisted Tea Light — a lower calorie flavor option — more than anywhere else in the country (more than 300K gallons consumed in 2021 alone). Unbeknownst to me, the Philly favorite isn’t available nationwide — until now! The 110-calorie, 4% ABV beverage will soon be available to all Americans, so we can all enjoy a summer of hard light iced tea.
