Each week, our inbox runneth over with news of gear, apparel and tech releases from around the world. In this feature, we’ll parse through the best of it. Today: Adsum drops a love story to Vermont, Dad Grass goes all in on CBD with a new health product and A24 releases a celebrity chef-studded horror-themed cookbook.
Adsum FW21 Drop 2
Brooklyn-based Adsum is looking north for some FW21 inspiration, citing the snowy mountains of Vermont as the main muse for an outerwear-heavy Drop 2. Featuring multiple technical jackets built to handle rough weather, as well as two on-trend midlayers in the form of the embroidered Front-Zip Cardigan and the 3/4 Snap Sweater, every piece of the collection is worth grabbing.
Nixon Grateful Dead Sentry Chronograph
The Grateful Dead-themed merch just keeps coming, from sneakers to camping gear to coolers to, believe it or not, bath towels. All of which is honestly fine with us, anything that provides a reminder to throw “Althea” on the stereo is a win in our book. The watchmaking ‘heads at Nixon have taken things to the next level with a handsome new version of their six-hand Sentry Chronograph paying homage to Jerry & Co. via three raised Steal Your Face subdials, red and blue-tipped hour and minute hands and a 13-point lightning bolt second hand. Couldn’t ask for a better way to make sure you make it to the show on time.
Pleasing
Harry Styles nearly broke the internet this week when the former boyband member turned cultural and style juggernaut finally released his new beauty brand, Pleasing. As of now, the collection includes four nail polishes each priced at $27 and wrapped up in dazzling bottles that may or may not look like butt plugs. You’ll also find the Pearlescent Illuminating Serum ($47), which offers moisturizing vitamin B5 and antioxidants, along with The Pleasing Pen ($41), a hydrating, anti-aging dual-ended eye gel and lip oil.
Guinness Chocolate Mint Stout Aged in Kentucky Bourbon Barrels
This stout is brewed with dried mint leaves, aged in Kentucky bourbon barrels and then conditioned with pure cacao. A strong 10.8% ABV, it joins Guinness Gingerbread Stout as a new limited-edition release in parts of the country.
Tombolo Après Ski Collection
Self-branded as “maximalist inactivewear in a time of minimalist activewear,” Tombolo’s latest Après collection is a nod to classic ‘80s ski-town style, dressed up in the signature graphic flair Tombolo always seems to bring to the table. The 12-piece capsule features matching Cabana sets, scarves, sweaters and jackets, all sporting winter-themed iconography ready to spice up any cold-weather getaway packing list.
Frank’s RedHot 1.5 Gallon Buffalo Wing Sauce Dispenser
Allright, y’all, You can stop looking. We’ve found the perfect holiday gift for the otherwise obnoxiously hard-to-shop-for person in your life. The question of what to get someone who has everything answers itself when a multi-gallon hot sauce dispenser is involved. Add in the ugly Christmas sweater casing and the fact that Frank’s actually tastes good, and we’re absolutely sold.
Otterbox Folding Wireless Power Bank
Sometimes your device needs a charge, but you still want or need to use it. Ergo, this palm-sized wireless charger features an adjustable stand (and a grippy surface) so you can power up and still watch a movie or finish a video call, either in landscape and portrait mode.
Trade Celebration Box
For the artisanal coffee fan who isn’t quite sure what they like, Trade now offers this gift box, featuring a three-bag selection curated by Trade’s own team and a fourth bag based on your giftee’s preferences.
Dad Grass Classic Formula CBD Tincture
If you know, you know. Dad Grass has been making waves for a minute now in the CBD space, with products designed to enhance your chill and keep things mellow, sans unwanted side effects. Their brand new 1200mg CBD Tincture does just that, easing symptoms of stress, anxiety, pain and inflammation while providing a subtle, naturally calming effect. Extracted from all-organic hemp flower, and free of herbicides, pesticides and other chemicals, this easy-dose tincture is radical, dude.
Horror Caviar: A Cookbook by A24
A24, already bona fide G.O.A.T. of movie merch, did not have to do us like this. And yet here we are, $65 poorer, albeit far, far happier. Also, a little grossed out. Horror Caviar: A Cookbook is not for the squeamish — inspired by 29 horror movies (Midsommar, Trouble Every Day, The Shining, The Witch, etc.), the cookbook is choc full of recipes by a host of celebrity chef ranging from IH favorite Sohla El-Waylly to Yasmina Price to Phoebe Chen — but the graphics are a gore fanatics dream and the dishes look really, really good. From “Lamb Chops in Marigold Jelly” to a “Multispectral Slushy with Rum,” prepare to prepare some frighteningly delicious food.
In Common
In Common is a new clothing brand utilizing sustainable fabrics, fair-wage employment and better overall manufacturing practices so you can feel good about the stuff you’re wearing. You can shop the brand’s line of underwear and basic tees which are all impressively soft and comfortable (we’d know, ’cause we’ve tried them) and made mostly from modal, a fiber derived from natural materials that uses significantly less energy and water than traditional cotton.
Timex Waterbury Hodinkee Limited Edition
Hodinkee collabs have been some of the hottest releases in the watch world for the last two years, with everything from G-Shocks designed by John Mayer to grayscale Unimatics all selling out on the day they’re unveiled. Now, the watch publication of record has something both affordable and, as of this writing, still available: a handsome take on the classic Timex Waterbury.
