Each week, our inbox runneth over with news of gear, apparel and tech releases from around the world. In this feature, we’ll parse through the best of it. Today: Mr. Mort teams up with The Elder Statesman, Le Creuset channels the wizarding world, and McIntosh upgrades its classic audio equipment.
Myles Apparel Everyday Pants
InsideHook favorite Myles Apparel isn’t into crazy designs or groundbreaking cuts. In fact, they’re the exact opposite; they live to optimize the styles you know you’ll wear. Case and point: the new Everyday Pant. Inspired by the versatility and popularity of the brand’s Everyday Short, the new bottoms take the best, most functional aspects of those shorts you wore all summer and wrap into a much prettier, more seasonally appropriate package.
Nine Arches Game
What happens when a journalist and storyteller teams up with a video game designer who has worked on titles like Fortnite and Doom? Apparently, the product is Nine Arches, a gorgeous new choose-your-own-adventure style game currently crowdfunding on Kickstarter. Don’t worry, this isn’t a traditional tabletop game like the ones you burned through during pandemic lockdowns. Instead, while the set includes a beautifully designed guide, logbook and set of cards with art that resembles tarot decks, it’s not about the objects. The game challenges players to dream up short-term adventures, and then actually go out and do them.
James × Roark: The Road Kit
Get dialed in for your next road trip with an elevated solution that keeps your essential utensils in one place. Blending Roark’s affinity for adventure with The James Brand’s eye for style, The Road Kit features a limited-edition Hell Gap fixed-blade knife, a titanium spoon and fork, and collapsible titanium chopsticks, all stored in a hand-numbered canvas roll. Eating good, no matter where your adventures take you, has never been easier.
Le Creuset Harry Potter Collection
Expecto Patr-oven! Le Creuset celebrates the magic of cooking with a Harry Potter-inspired kitchenware collection, a joining of the wizarding and culinary worlds. Complete with Snitch-emblazoned Dutch Oven, Spellcasting Spatulas, Hogwart House Dessert Plate Set and more.
The Elder Statesman x Mordechai Rubenstein
It’s common knowledge that New York anthropologist, outfit-chronicler, IG personality, and general staple of the menswear community Mordechai Rubenstein (AKA @MisterMort) loves his tye die, which explains his new collection released in tandem with luxury cashmere brand The Elder Statesman. Featuring psychedelic prints and luscious knits, the promo video for the campaign probably best explains just what the heck is going on (hint: we love it).
Berluti Home & Office Collection
Isn’t it about time to upgrade your WHF situation? Berluti thinks so, and they’ve graciously extended a hand with a luxurious array of home and office goods. The collection features only the most premium materials: Venezia leather, white Carrara marble and hornbeam wood all feature in the opulent offerings. Sure to imbue a more palatial feeling than your ten-year-old mousepad, the Berluti Home & Office collection is available now.
McIntosh MC3500 Mk II Vaccum Tube Amp
Remember Woodstock? Not the Woodstock that shall not be named (the one that ends with ‘99) but the original coalescence of some of the greatest music minds and talents ever known to man? Yeah, this was the amp they used. Well, not this exact model, but the MC3500 1-Channel Vacuum Tube Amplifier Mk II, McIntosh’s newest amplifier, is directly inspired by the original 1968-71 MC3500. With eight EL509S high-power output vacuum tubes and a slew of other features sure to blow the socks off any audiophile, we know exactly what we’re getting our classic-rock-obsessed fathers for Christmas.
Solo Stove Elemental Color Series
Solo Stove’s stainless steel fire pits were the hit of the pandemic, with an ingenious design that cuts down on smoke. If you haven’t picked one up yet, now may be the time as the brand is offering them in five different colors, maybe realizing not everyone is into the bare stainless steel aesthetic. There are five colors available at the moment: Ash, Clay, Sand, Soil and Water. But do be aware that these aren’t shipping out for a few weeks, with the exact time depending on the specific model you order.
Grateful Dead x Parks Projects
Are The Dead-inspired collaborations perhaps getting a bit out of hand? Yes, but it ain’t gonna stop us from pulling the trigger on a dancing bears-adorned camp chair. The whole collection feels a bit more on. the nose than most of the Grateful Dead partnerships, but in a good way — after all, trippy, colorful iconography and camping go hand-in-hand. The groovy merch also helps to support the Sierra Club, so the capsule is a win-win in our book. One of everything, please.
Air Mail x Anderson & Sheppard Work Jacket
When Air Mail decided to release its own coffee beans with Flying Coffee, we thought that was a natural extension. A hot cup of single-origin joe to go with the digital weekly on Saturdays? Don’t mind if we do. Then they did something we did not expect: this work jacket, an exquisitely crafted fall layer which Air Mail co-founder Graydon Carter designed with Savile Row staple Anderson & Sheppard out of English wool. Thanks to minimal branding limited to the interior, you don’t even need to be a fanatical subscriber to add this to your layering arsenal this season.
Tincup Whiskey x VSSL Collaboration
Toast to the summit, an epic day of powder or good friends around the fire with the Tincup Whiskey x VSSL collab that pairs Tincup’s award-winning whiskey with VSSL’s innovative flask. Pick up the pairing as a kit that features the necessary ingredients to craft the Mountain Mule, an on-the-go cocktail, or simply invest in the all-in-one flask that features a compass, flashlight, bottle opener and two collapsible shot glasses.
Everlane Desert Boot
Everlane launched its first-ever dedicated men’s footwear styles this week, taking timeless, classic styles and reimagining them to feel easy, modern and downright cool. And that’s exactly the vibe of the brand’s new Desert Boot — the iconic suede chukka boot now with sneaker-level comfort and a smarter, cleaner look.
Lee x Pendleton
In a celebration of American craftsmanship, your favorite blanket makers and jean designers have teamed up for a multi-item collaboration. The Union-All is our favorite piece from the capsule: a full raw denim jumpsuit, the whole thing is giving Top Gun (and we can’t think of anything more patriotic than that).
Akashi-Kama FW21
Bay Area-based Akashi-Kama is a bit of an oddity in modern menswear; where as so many designers and brands focus on already-fading trends, Akashi draws inspiration for garments of old and the Japanese-American experience, channeling the minimalism and sustainability as forces behind the clothing. Their FW21, which introduces the brand’s first foray into knitwear, and it’s full of parred-back, handsome woven sweaters and cardigans and, of course, Akashi-Kama’s iconic Noragi workwear jacket.
Meltdown Chubby All-Aluminum Ice Press
If you’ve found yourself cursing out a square ice cube for ruining your drink yet again (damn that over-dilution), a situation we’re sure you run into quite often, consider a Meltdown Ice Press. The solid copper press churns out perfectly rounded spheres of frozen water like nobody’s business. An added bonus, it looks really good on your bar.
Beats Fit Pro
Truly wireless? Yes. Noise-canceling? Yup! Constantly falling out? Not a chance. The Fit Pro, BeatsbyDre’s newest in-ear headphones, are built specifically to move with you as you go about your day. Wingtip buds and active noise canceling ensure you can enjoy your audio in peace, without the hassle of the outside world jostling through your earholes.
Moncler x Hoka Mafate Speed 2 Shoe
Running company Hoka One One has teamed up with Italian luxury ski brand Moncler to create what can only be described as a cross between an ultra-plush mattress and hiking boot. The Mafate Speed 2 Shoe, born of collaboration, a love for trail running, and a desire to see how much running foam you can fit on one lug sole, is a luxe trail runner inspired by the mountain ranges of Italy and France, and ready for the flex-on-’em activation. A hefty boy, the Mafate Speed 2 sports a 5mm(!) Vibram Megagrip rubber outsole, specialty constructed MATRYX upper, and immaculate alpine vibes. The style is currently sold out, but keep your eyes peeled for a December 1 drop at Hoka’s website.
