Each week, our inbox runneth over with news of gear, apparel and tech releases from around the world. In this feature, we’ll parse through the best of them. Today: Flint and Tinder’s Shaggy Scottish Sweater, Frank and Oak’s water-repellent, completely sustainable winter boots and the highly-anticipated Baby Yoda toys.
Shaggy Scottish Sweater
Flint and Tinder’s shaggy Scottish sweater was made, well, in Scotland and is every bit warm and cozy as it is stylish. Made from 100% wool, this sweater comes in four colors and is sure to keep the chill away.
The Nevasca Water Repellent Boot
You know the wily Canadians at Frank And Oak for their eco-minded menswear, utilizing all manner of organic and recycled materials. Their new winter boot is one of their most ambitious products to date, combining bio-leather, recycled rubber and wool felt, and even coffee waste into a water-repellent stomper you can feel good about (and good in). It’s available in both black and brown, with bright-red laces thrown in for good measure.
Mallmann’s Shearling Coat
Designed in partnership with legendary chef and outdoorsman Francis Mallmann, this shearling coat is made with luxurious Italian sheepskin making this n a pretty damn good-looking winter coat.
Timex + Todd Snyder Gold Welton Bi-Metal Quartz
We’ve seen this particular collab timepiece before, but not for long (as it sold out with a quickness), and not in this particular style — this is the first time pairing an elegant gold-tone case with a black leather strap. It’s dressier, it plays well with cufflinks, but it’s also affordable enough that even if it only gets pulled out for special occasions, it’s worth picking up.
Quaker Marine Swordfish in Winter Fabrics
We clued you into Quaker Marine back in September, and while we’ve put away Hemingway’s treasured patent-leather bills for the winter, you can still catch us in the brand’s maritime caps thanks to this new drop. The Swordfish is now available in Donegal tweed, plaid wool with a suede brim, charcoal wool twill and even orange corduroy, should you need a pop of color to help you stand out in the snow.
Noah x Depeche Mode Capsule Collection
Almost 20 years after its release, Noah is honoring Depeche Mode’s Violator album with a 13-piece menswear collection featuring your typical streetwear collab T-shirts, and not so typical items like a varsity jacket and monk-strap shoe. Of the album’s nine songs, Noah chose to focus on four in the garments: “World in My Eyes,” “Enjoy the Silence,” “Policy of Truth,” and, of course, “Personal Jesus.” So grab your own “Personal Jesus” scarf — reach out and touch fleece.
GL x Erik Skoldberg
In collaboration with contemporary artist Erik Skoldberg, Goodlife Clothing has repurposed two of Skoldberg’s paintings into limited edition, small-batch swim trunks and the brand’s signature tonal 3D GOODLIFE logo hat. The result is an energizing design, that has us wishing it wasn’t currently thirty degrees.
Ode Brew Grinder
One of the most highly anticipated coffee grinders of the year is finally here. The Ode Brew Grinder is a home grinder that has cafe capabilities — perfecting your daily brewed coffee, espresso, cold brew and more. The grinder uses 64mm professional grade-flat burns, 31-grind settings and Single Dose Loading for ultimate bean freshness.
Hasbro Baby Yoda Toys
The long-awaited (legitimate) Baby Yoda toys are here. Well, for pre-order. Hasbro announced two lines of Baby Yoda toys — The Black Series Line ($15.99) and The Bounty Collection ($9.99). Both collections feature figurines of “The Child” in various adorable, memeable poses. We’ll be waiting for the plush toys, but you can pre-order the Hasbro’s figurines now for delivery in May.
James° + AETHER EDC Kit
Anyone looking for a good, last-minute gift for a loved one with a penchant for high-end everyday carry should take note. It’s $275, so it ain’t cheap, but you’ll get the James Brand’s excellent Bennet pen and their Ellis multitool, plus a carrying case by bag-makers Aether and a co-branded moleskine. Tasteful, tasteful, tasteful.
