Each week, our inbox runneth over with news of gear, apparel and tech releases from around the world. In this feature, we’ll parse through the best of them. Today: An already-sold out Old Bay hot sauce, a homage to Nirvana via socks and Away’s latest indestructible carry-on.
Brunswick Rain Jacket
Managing to look good while it’s raining is a difficult feat, but J.Crew is making it a little easier with their Brunswick rain jacket — all while actually keeping you dry. The three-layer nylon fabric will ensure you don’t come into contact with any water, and there are plenty of pockets (including a secret phone size pocket) ideal for protecting your precious belongings. Plus, it comes in three fun colorways that’ll brighten up the cloudiest of days. You’ll definitely look like less of a wet dog (no offense to dogs, of course).
Light Blue Narwhal & Seagull Sweater
Founded by Alberto Favaretto, Very Troubled Child creates distinguished travel bags and other personalized leather accessories. And while their specialty is bags, they’ve just dropped a merino wool, unisex sweater featuring the brand’s signature Narwhal & Seagull pattern and has us wishing for sunnier days with seagulls and narwhals.
Nike Blazer Mid ’77
The Nike Blazer came back with a vengeance last year, as one of our favorite shoes to recommend instead of the annoyingly ubiquitous (but admittedly very clean!) Killshot 2 everyone else is wearing. This version, cut in a “thunderstorm blue” suede, is the best yet. It seems to be available only in the UK, though, so you’ll have to deal with size conversions and all that, but man, you’re gonna look so fucking cool.
Dyson Lightcycle Morph
Yes, Dyson is back at it again with a minimalist lamp that costs $650. But if you can get beyond the inherent ridiculousness, the new Morph lights are, as with most Dyson products, ingenious. Four formats allow the desk and floor models to switch from spotlight to ambient light with a simple flick, the light’s color and brightness change with the time of day, and while you have to swap lightbulbs out regularly on your other lamps, this’ll last for about 60 years.
Old Bay® Hot Sauce
Old Bay low-key dropped the hottest product of the year: Old Bay Hot Sauce. The sauce, which includes the same seasoning as the beloved namesake, sold out pretty instantly. So we regret to inform you it’s not available at the moment, but hopefully restocking soon, cause we need to get out hands (and mouths) on it ASAP.
Frank & Oak Drift Sneaker
With the Drift, Canada’s Frank & Oak offers up a solid contender in the ever important white-sneaker category. You’ll be looking to pick up a new pair as spring approaches, so why this one? The sustainable details here actually up the style quotient, from the pristine, plant-dyed bio-leather upper to the organic, unbleached cotton laces that offer an off-white pop.
Nirvana Sock Collection
Stance’s homage to the 90s grunge era is a collection of Nirvana socks, featuring the band’s iconic smiley-face logo and a tie-die print commemorating Nirvana’s Nevermind album. Unfortunately, you’ll have to name 5 songs before you purchase.
The Bigger Carry-On: Aluminum Edition
What? You don’t have an Away bag yet? Well the hottest name in carry-ons has yet another option to woo frequent flyers. They’ve offered aluminum roller bags for a while, but with the Aluminum Edition, they’re releasing two new colors: onyx and gold, to go with the classic silver and popular rose gold. All are available in two carry-on sizes, and a medium and large suitcase.
EDKH
Footwear Brand Oliver Cabell unveiled these “Epstein Didn’t Kill Himself” sneakers to let everyone know that Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused of trafficking underage girls and had a lot of damning info on a lot of powerful people, didn’t kill himself.
Trailer Valet RVR
It’s a remote-control car that can move trailers, basically. Now moving your Airstream will be a fun game instead of a chore that makes you wonder why you ever bought the thing in the first place. Gamify everything!
Krisp
Previously available only on desktop, this new iOS app uses AI to silence outside noise when you’re on an important call — you can connect it to Zoom, Webex or any other annoying conference call service, and the machines will keep your voice at the forefront. You’ll never have to go on mute again (unless you want to keep that advantage).
Air Max 90 Hyper Royal
An icon in an iconic color way, available for the first time ever. It’s not the most comfortable shoe in Nike’s Air Max collection, but it’s certainly one of the best looking. Act fast, our guess is it’s gonna sell out quick.
