To announce its intent to offer only preservative-free burgers moving forward, Burger King unveiled an ad campaign showcasing the bun, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, and 100-percent beef patty of its standard Whopper getting moldy.

The 45-second commercial’s tag line reads: “The beauty of no artificial preservatives.”

“The Burger King brand is currently rolling out the Whopper sandwich with no preservatives, colors, or flavors from artificial sources in the U.S.,” Burger King Corporation Americas president Christopher Finazzo said in a release. “The product is already available in more than 400 restaurants in the country and will reach all restaurants throughout the year.”

Set to Dina Washington’s 1959 hit “What a Difference A Day Makes,” the ad shows an all-natural Whopper slowly rotting and turning blue over the course of 34 days.

“We believe that real food tastes better,” Restaurant Brands International global chief marketing officer Fernando Machado said in a statement. “That’s why we are working hard to remove preservatives, colors and flavors from artificial sources from the food we serve in all countries around the world.”

For Burger King’s sake, hopefully the internet reacts kinder to the preservative-free Whopper than it did to the french-fry filled burger the chain recently advertised — and was mocked brutally for by Wendy’s.
