Well, in an interesting piece of Friday news, it seems that Stephen Bannon, former chief strategist to Donald Trump, may be switching lanes and heading to Hollywood to start making movies, with a particular interest in Westerns.
Page Six reports that Bannon, who has already resumed his role as executive chairman of Breitbart News, has made some people in liberal Hollywood feel a little “queasy.” But he has gotten meetings with executives who are willing to hear him out.
One source told Page Six that Bannon’s interest in Westerns makes sense if you think about his strategy with Trump, referring to Bannon’s “trademark appeal to voters with old-school values.”
This wouldn’t be the first time Bannon has been to Hollywood. Before his political career, Page Six writes, Bannon was a Hollywood executive producer, making two films: The Indian Runner and Titus.
Then, in the 2000s, he made over a dozen right-wing political documentaries.
Another odd fact that Page Six reports is Bannon once wrote a script for an “erotic science-fiction retelling” of Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus, set in space. Plus, he once penned a hip-hop musical about the LA riots, which George Clooney commented on this week, according to Page Six, saying it was one of “the worst scripts I’ve ever read.”
