James Bond is back, and according to a morning announcement that streamed live on Twitter, the world’s greatest spy will be hitting up Jamaica, Norway, London and Italy in the 25th installment of the iconic franchise.
Announced from Goldeneye, Ian Fleming’s Jamaican home, there was plenty of speculation around who would be in the film. While there weren’t too many surprises, including Daniel Craig reprising his role as 007, Cary Fukunaga directing, Jeffery Wright coming back as well as Naomie Harris playing Moneypenny again, there were a few additions. The biggest of them all is the addition of Oscar-winner Rami Malek, who will play Bond’s nemesis in the film that has yet to be titled. Malek wasn’t in Jamaica with the rest of the cast, but he recorded a message.

For Craig, this will be his fifth time playing the iconic character. While Fukunaga mentioned during the Twitter discussion that Craig is the director’s personal favorite Bond of all-time, it has been mentioned over the last year that this would be Craig’s final time in the role. This forthcoming film would pull him out of a tie with Pierce Brosnan for the second most appearances as the spy, and put him right behind Roger Moore and Sean Connery who had the role seven times apiece.
Rounding out the cast will be Ralph Fiennes, Ana De Armas, Ben Whishaw, Billy Magnussen, Dali Benssalah, Léa Seydoux and Rory Kinnear.
The movie’s release date was pushed back by two months recently and is now expected to arrive on April 8, 2020.
