A glass of wine sounds good right about now (if you’re reading this at 11 a.m., yes).
Might as well go with something good. Start with Napa Valley Vinters, an association of 500+ member wineries, which is selling off a collection of Napa Valley wines with limited availability — as in, many of these wines are normally only sold at their respective wineries.
Sales of these hard-to-find wines help employees and small family businesses of Napa Valley. Given that sometimes almost half of a winery’s sales derive from tasting rooms (which are now closed), this is an excellent way to help out the area during the coronavirus pandemic from your home.
“With their tasting rooms being closed it’s had a big impact on their businesses,” as Teresa Wall, NVV senior director of marketing communications, told Wine-Searcher (which also does a good breakdown of what’s available). “In response to this, we came up with the idea to bring our members together. Many wineries are offering promotions right now, so in order to stand out we knew that our offers had to be special and unique.”
So go pick up some excellent vino! As the trade guide The Drinks Business notes, the sale features wines from 20 vintages and over 250 wines that range from $25 to $600. The oldest wine is a Frog’s Leap 1991 Zinfandel.
