The Detroit estate of Motown founder Berry Gordy—who discovered The Miracles and signed acts like The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, and The Jackson 5—has hit the luxury real estate market for $1.6 million. Located in the Boston–Edison Historic District and built in 1917, Gordy bought the property in ’67 and lived there through the early ’70s.

The 10,500-square-foot 10-bedroom, seven-bath estate sits on 2.2 acres. Also included are a 4,000-square-foot pool house, with a billiard room and bowling alley; and a 1,000-square-foot carriage house that sits over a five-car garage. Take a short visual tour of the house’s grounds below. For a more in-depth look at its interiors, click here.
