Here’s a good joke: Ask your friend in New York what they pay per square foot for their apartment.
In all seriousness, real-estate prices in the city are so out of control that agents and brokers are resorting to outlandish marketing schemes to get their listings off the market. Like this active $85M Hells Kitchen penthouse that commands a triple take — one for each of the two “free” Rolls-Royce Phantoms that come with the purchase of the 42nd Street penthouse, and one for the trip to space.
Local realty hotshot Daniel Neiditch has put together this James Bond-ian starter pack, which will send you and someone of your choosing (choose wisely) on a future Virgin Galactic flight to space.
Be forewarned: his sky-high $85M price is firm. Even after five years on the market, the number hasn’t budged. That timeline has peers skeptical, but with a fresh set of perks and more and more eyes turned to space travel, maybe this is the year it finally sells.
An abridged summary of those perks, should you be interested in acquiring the 15,000-square-foot home:
- A pair of seats on a future Virgin Galactic passenger flight to space ($250K value)
- Two Rolls-Royce Phantoms
- A Lamboghini Aventador
- A $1M 75-foot yacht
- Access to a Hamptons vacation rental that goes for $350K/season
- Courtside seats to the Brooklyn Nets
And, somehow, the list goes on.
But let us take a moment to shine a light on one glaring issue: the “penthouse” requires a bit of work, in the form of displacing 13 month-to-month renters to performing some massive renovations to bring the space together.
So as always, caveat emptor.
