There are expensive homes, and then there’s Villa Firenze. While its name recalls Italy, this estate is located an ocean away — specifically, in Beverly Hills. Its owner, Steven Udvar-Hazy, made a fortune in the aircraft industry over his long career; this is, apparently, how one ends up with — according to CNBC’s report on the sale of the estate — the largest estate in a gated community that’s also been home to the likes of Denzel Washington and Sylvester Stallone.
A 2018 attempt to sell the estate for $165 million ended without it changing hands, which brings us to this year, and a revised plan to auction the estate at $160 million. That figure makes it the most expensive property to ever be sold at auction.
The estate includes a trio of guest residences, 13 bedrooms and 17 bathrooms. All in all, it encompasses 20,000 square feet of space.
CNBC reports that the villa took architect William Hablinski five years to build. For all that it resembles an isolated villa in Italy, the nine acres on which it’s situated are uniformly Californian, an unexpected yet luxurious blend of style and landscape.
