Welcome to dating in New York City: Dozens of men showed up to Union Square for Tinder dates on Sunday, only to find out that they were all there to meet the same woman.
The host wanted the potential suitors to battle it out Hunger Games-style for her heart. One Twitter user gave his version of the events, saying he met a woman named Natasha through the online dating app and she invited him to meet her at the public space to watch her friend DJ. But when he showed up, the situation was a little different than it had been billed.
I am about to tell you an epic tale about subterfuge, dating in the 21st century and the fall of human civilization. This actually happened to me and it could happen to you too. Get some popcorn. *Thread*

“I make my way to Union Square. Eat a hot dog and look over by this open lot by 17th Ave and there is a stage and a DJ and about 100 ppl and cameras and sh-t and I think well this is some random ass Manhattan sh-t,” writes the Twitter user, @bvdhai.

“Eventually I see a girl moving towards backstage with two enormous bodyguards in sunglasses and realise it’s her and I’m thinking WHAT THINE F–KETH IS GOING ON,” he continued.

Natasha takes the mic and explained that all the men came from Twitter and what they were going to have to do to win her heart. Men who stayed told Gothamist that Natasha began live swiping through the remaining men and made them compete to go out with her, like a sprinting contest, which you can watch below.
It is unclear if any lucky (or unlucky) man won the date.
