Uber’s Self-Driving Cars Are Mastering the Road

The company might be facing other problems, but their self-driving cars are not one of them.

Uber was the first company to launch a self-driving car program, back in 2016 in Pittsburgh. And though the company has had a really rough 2017, there are still signs of progress on the self-driving car front. The vehicles have both expanded their territory and their knowledge, and drive more smoothly, require less human intervention, and can officially change lanes on their own. Another important aspect of the project is that they have had people take rides in a robo-Uber, like native Pittsburger, Larry Lagattuta. He said, “I don’t think that there’s a wide range of reactions. I think there are two. One is ‘Oh my gosh that would be so cool.’ The other reaction is ‘How did you do that without having a stroke? Because I’d be so freaked out.’” Lagattuta said he thinks self-driving Ubers are very cool, but wishes the cars could spot and avoid potholes. Watch the video below to learn more.
