Fox News host Tucker Carlson told viewers on Tuesday night that he agrees with Democratic congresswoman-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on one thing: Her denouncement of Amazon’s forthcoming New York City headquarters.
“Amazon is a billion-dollar company,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote on Twitter earlier this week. “The idea that it will receive hundreds of millions of dollars in tax breaks at a time when our subway is crumbling and our communities need MORE investment, not less, is extremely concerning to residents here.”
Ocasio-Cortez went on to ponder the quality of jobs and how many Amazon is promising, as well as what the jobs will pay, if there are benefits, and if people can collectively bargain.
Carlson told viewers that Ocasio-Cortez’s logic is “hard to argue with.”
“Hate to admit it, but Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has a very good point,” Carlson said. “That’s the only time I’ve ever agreed with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, but it’s hard to argue with the internal logic of her point.”
Carlson added:“The richest man in the world just got $2 billion in taxpayer subsidies? How does that work?”
