There’s something different about the wreck of the Kodiak Queen and the surrounding reef: it now features a sculpture of a Kraken climbing all over it.
The project was created by Owen Buggy, who located the ship off the island of Tortola, reports Deeper Blue. Buggy went to Sir Richard Branson after the discovery, who agreed to sponsor the project.
The sculpture is 80 feet and transparent. It is titled BVI Art Reef. The hope is that the sculpture will become a host to transplanted corals, writes Deeper Blue.
The Kodiak Queen was one of the last surviving ships from the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor back in December of 1941. It now lies in the water of the island Virgin Gorda.
