Jayden Bethea is only five-years-old, but he has already developed an impressive passion for fashion photography. Following in the footsteps of his mother, Selah B. Marie Bethea, Jayden is showing that anyone, any age, can become a great photographer if you have passion and a willingness to try, reports Fstoppers.
He uses a Nikon D5300, 18-55mm lens to shoot. This all started when Selah was running a fashion shoot in Charlotte, North Carolina, back in December 2016. Jayden was on set watching the process and was very curious, so she gave him a backup camera so he could try it out. Jayden took to photography with impressive speed, writes Fstoppers, and started taking remarkably good photos, especially for a three-year-old. So Selah decided to let him start shooting and learn how to conduct his own shoots.
Jayden is always eager to learn more, and knows how to manage his own camera settings. He is currently very passionate about learning composition and framing, reports Fstoppers. But his process doesn’t stop once the shutter clicks, he follows through and sits with his mom and goes through a postproduction process too. He selects images and tells his mom what he wants to be done with them. Fstoppers writes that it won’t be long before he is doing all this on his own, from start to finish.
Take a look at some of his photos below, and remember, according to Fstoppers, the key to be a great photographer “is that optimistic desire to create great photos.”
