Trailer for Ted Kennedy Biopic ‘Chappaquiddick’ Has Dropped

It follows the night Kennedy drove off the Dike Bridge.

Almost 50 years ago, Ted Kennedy drove a car off the Dike Bridge on the island of Chappaquiddick. He survived, but his 28-year-old passenger, Mary Jo Kopechne, did not. Kennedy claims he made a wrong turn and accidentally drove off the bridge late at night. He says he tried to save Kopechne, who was trapped inside the car, but failed. However, he later pled guilty to the charge of leaving the site of an accident and was given a two-month sentence and a year probation. Many believe that it cost him the chance at the presidency. Others wonder how he managed to remain a senator.
