The forthcoming 15th installment of Bob Dylan’s Bootleg Series will include material from a 1969 session that he recorded with Johnny Cash in Nashville. Bob Dylan (featuring Johnny Cash) – Travelin’ Thru, 1967 – 1969: The Bootleg Series Vol. 15 will be released on Nov. 1 and feature outtakes from the John Wesley Harding, Nashville Skyline and Self Portrait sessions as well.
Dylan and Cash spent two days in the studio together in February of 1969 for their session, where they covered everything from “Mystery Train” to “You Are My Sunshine,” jammed with Carl Perkins, and tackled their own material as well. The pair also wrote “Wanted Man,” which Cash went on to debut at the San Quentin prison a week later.
The bootlegs will be available as a 3-CD or 3-LP set and also includes tracks recorded with bluegrass legend Earl Scruggs in 1970. You can pre-order it here.
