The BBC will bring viewers the “definitive” account of the Harvey Weinstein scandal via a feature-length documentary. It will be produced by two-time Oscar-winning producer Simon Chinn and his production company Lightbox. BBC will screen the documentary on TV, but also tentatively plans on an Academy and BAFTA award-qualifying release. It will be 90 minutes long, and will feature interviews with the women who have accused Weinstein of sexual misconduct, but will also include interviews with journalists, producers, directors, actors, agents, and lawyers who were involved in the scandal. According to Variety, some of the people will be speaking out for the first time. Chinn is known for the documentaries Man on Wire and Searching for Sugar Man. He told Variety that Lightbox has already unearthed new aspects of the story.
