Long Before Instagram, Andy Warhol Chronicled His Life and Friends Through Polaroids

Andy Warhol is famously known for his Pop Art but he was also an avid photographer who constantly documented his world. From the late 1950’s until his death in 1987, Warhol kept a visual diary of his life with a Polaroid camera and accumulated a collection of thousands of photos.

Taschen’s Andy Warhol: Polaroids 1958-1987 features hundreds of instant pictures that include portraits of Mick Jagger, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jack Nicholson, Dolly Parton, Audrey Hepburn and other snapshots of life through Andy Warhol’s eyes.
