Ours is a city divided.
On one side: tech companies and their pixel products.
On the other: dudes who make actual stuff with their hands.
Merging the two: the freshly launched Makers Market, a high-tech bazaar of American-made leather goods, bags, furniture and accessories with a who’s who of local talent on the roster.
Names like Joshu+Vela, makers of sick canvas bags and cowhide billfolds.
Bayview bagman Ethan Jamison and his understated packs.
And unexpected finds like upcycled skateboards from Iris and growler caddies for the pedal set.
The collection comes complete with detailed profiles of the makers, but because we’re talking local, we suggest swinging by their launch party and pop-up shop in the Dogpatch tomorrow evening and gripping mitts with the mustachioed faces behind the goods.
Bonus points for freely flowing hometown brews and wine.
Call it a grand reunification.
