Away: A pop-up for all your summer getaway gear

June 6, 2016 9:00 am

Plan a summer trip. You deserve it.

But before you go, make one stop — at a Noho pop-up that stocks all of a man’s travel needs in one convenient place.

It’s a curation of goods hailing from Stockholm to Tokyo and everywhere in between. Inlucded: the best damn carry-on we’ve thrown overhead to date.

Here’s what you’re gonna do.

Head down to Lafayette to Away’s summer brick ‘n’ mortar. Unlike airlines, car rental companies and your in-laws, they are here to make your vacation life easy.

With the racks rotating all summer long, you’ll find a fine collection of goods curated by Tictail, who wander the globe scouring the best home and travel items in the game. They’ve got everything from sleep masks to travel teas. Plus: limited-edition collaborations with CAP, Tokyobike and Sockerbit, and our favorite the travel blanket-slash-scarf hybrid, appropriately named “Blarf.

The real MVP of the space, though, is the Away carry-on. Originally founded by two Warby Parker powerhouses, the luggage sports a crazy tough but still flexible shell along with a built-in iPhone charger. Event better: it’s affordable. The best $225 you’ll spend all summer.

The space will also host a series of events throughout the summer with speakers, dinners and entertainment with a focus on innovation, tech, music, art, food and, of course, travel.
