Once a month, 100 people gather in the LES to talk about sex.
Everything is on the table, from “Is it okay to sleep with a co-worker?” to “How do I bring a little BDSM into my marriage?”
And you’re invited.
Founded by Jared Matthew Weiss, Touchpoint is a town hall-style meeting open to the public addressing how to date, partner and have sex in the modern world.
Here’s how it works:
Guests can purchase a ticket to their next March 7th affair right here. In the days leading up to the event, questions are crowdsourced from Touchpoint’s online community — so if you’re attending, you need to submit your question(s) online in advance. The night of the event, there is a moderator, but no panelists or speakers. Just a big group of people that want to talk and listen about sex.
“I have a lot to learn,” says Weiss on why he started Touchpoint, which has grown from 10 people in a living room into a full-fledged community movement in a matter of months. “We have a lot to learn from each other. Sure, we learn from teachers and therapists and coaches. But when it comes to sex and love, it’s just so illuminating to get real, live perspectives. Love can be very lonely. With the state of tech and social media as it is, the hunger for in-person community is emerging.”
The conversations are intimate and candid, and have covered the full spectrum of topics, from valuing open relationships, to how cheating can make a relationship stronger, to learning how to sext better. Singles, couples and beyond are welcome, provided you can follow Touchpoint town hall’s four rules:
1) Let your freak flag fly. Even if it’s your first rodeo, saddle up. You have full permission to be yourself.
2) It’s not all about you. Be there to give and receive.
3) You have to let people finish. There is no cross-conversation.
4) You can’t kiss and tell.
Lucky for you, they just so happen to be the four rules of good sex.
Makes ‘em easy to remember.
