Times Square is generally a thing to be avoided by New Yorkers at all costs.

The naked cowboy. The selfie sticks. The racist muppets. Let’s be honest: it’s mostly insufferable.

But we’ve found three sexy reasons to beeline it that-a-way for your next date.

From a little known dinner spot to drinking Champagne in a rooftop igloo to a new burlesque show at one of the city’s swankiest hotels, it’ll be worth the trip.

Scout’s honor.

DINNER

Every Tuesday, Upland Chef Justin Smillie hosts an intimate feast with one seating and an extra-specialized menu. The name: Dinner | Downstairs. Tucked away in the locale’s lower level, the evening features a prix-fixe menu served family style. The menu changes weekly, but won’t disappoint. A completely unique experience from the service upstairs, expect dishes such as baked pastas, rich cassoulets, roasted poultry and winter greens.
Email upland.downstairs@starr-restaurant.com for reservations.

WINNER

Long for lounging NY rooftops libation in hand no more. Bar 54 has a trés creative way to take in the sweeping skyline: in a bubble. Even on the chilliest night, take your swill in two cozy, igloo-like structures overlooking Midtown. Blankets included. Open seasonally.

SINNER

If you’ve yet to check out the searing remodel of the W Times Square Living Room, here’s your chance. Beginning tonight, they’re throwing a burlesque Peep Show with a sweets-inspired cocktail program, because — as they explain — “candy is dandy, but liquor is much quicker.” Sip on a Pin-up, Peter Cotton Tail or Lemon Peep-tini in a private booth and take in the show.
