“I’ll have what she’s having.” And every 30 days, you will.
That’s the promise behind the new pastrami subscription service from Katz’s Deli, the New York landmark best known for its ecstatic role in When Harry Met Sally. Now, customers outside of the city can experience those same, uh, culinary delights.
Starting in June, the deli will ship you its slow-smoked 30-day pastrami once a month. The minimum commitment is three months (you can also opt for three, six or a full year), and you can opt for either themed packages (the July Griller package is full of franks, knockwurst, knishes and more) or customized boxes. You’ll get enough food for 4-6 people for one full meal, and the service costs $150 per shipment.
The deli also now offers “Big Ticket Items” that’ll feed up to 150 people and, with the extremely elevated Platinum VIP Experience, even fly in two “professional meat carvers” to help you serve up the corned beef. That’ll set you back just south of $10K.
The upside: when you’re in New York, you’ll be allowed to skip the ridiculous line.
Because why should you wait on such succulent delights?
