This Sunday, High Line at the Railyards — the third and final section of the elevated park — opens to the public, marking the first time New Yorkers can stroll unimpeded between 34th St. and Gansevoort 30 feet above the city bustle. Will make a helluva date. Here’s how you do it.
Fall sojourns require an extra layer or two — good thing heritage-mongers Woolrich open their first NYC flagship today in SoHo. The shop stocks the tough-to-find-online Woolrich Woolen Mills and Woolrich John Rich & Bros. collections, so get down there in person and insulate yourself.
Start up top at 34th street and work your way south — running right along the water, the Railyards boasts some of the High Line’s best views and paths that run through the old freight rail tracks. As you move downtown, use this handy map to spot the High Line’s museum-worthy art collection along the way.
Whether you want to jump off at 16th St. or go all the way to Gansevoort and double back, your final stop should be at Corkbuzz’s new Chelsea Market outpost for a much-deserved glass of vino and some tomato-braised calamari. Time it right and you can catch a blind tasting or movie screening.
