One Drop-Dead Sexy Date Night

A 70s underground soiree and a sneaky new speakeasy.

If you don’t like complaining about the weather, you might want to relocate.

Because the city is sweltering and this date night is fire.

Grab your leading lady or, heck, favorite prospect, and off you go.

THE EAT
You’ll start by lounging in muted velvet seats under a vaulted atrium while snacking on Fior Di Latte. The new Casa Apicii, located in the historic 19th-century Greenwich Village townhouse previously occupied by The Lion, features Italian fare with California influences. Chef Casey Lane, responsible for Venice’s Tasting Kitchen, and Chef Adam Nadel, will serenade the tastebuds with Una Cena Semplice, a four-course tasting menu of whatever they’re in the mood to make.

THE HEAT
Whether you won or lost last Valentine’s Day, here’s a chance for a do-over — a saucy one at that. The renegade party people at Les Salonnieres are at it again this Saturday, August 20th. A psychedelic retro-trip back to the ’70s will pay homage to Andy Warhol and his muse Edie Sedgwick. Inspired by Dave Mancuso’s classic loft parties, the night will include roller girls, disco balls galore, of course cocktails and a few scandalous performances. Even more intriguing, guests will receive the event’s location the night of, via a “secret admirer.”

THE CLOSER
A spankin’ new East Village hideaway awaits. The Body Shop, tucked away behind the bar of Pinks, is a super sexy, yet somehow unpretentious speakeasy with rock’n’roll vibes and live music. The hidden, private room is equipped with a direct phone line to the bartender, a two-way mirror for maximum voyeurism and a sneaky sliding wall concealing a passel of pin-up babes. The cocktails are strong, the atmosphere sensual.
